The Little People Day Nursery in Hucclecote, is actually located at the end of Hucclecote Road, a short distance from Gloucester Business Park. So although we refer to our nursery as a Hucclecote nursery, we attract parents from a wide area due to our proximity to the Business Park, M5 motorway, A417, and our accessibility - with plenty of ‘on site’ parking.
The Little People Day Nursery has provided exceptional childcare since 1999, and occupies a large open plot of land on Hucclecote Road, Gloucester. Our large spacious building has plenty of character, large rooms that give a light airy feeling and provide lots of space in which children can play and learn. Our Hucclecote nursery has been totally refurbished with love and care, and is a beautiful space for our children to enjoy, with a homely welcoming feel in which we nurture and care for children and their families.
We’ve developed separate rooms for our babies (3 months to 12 months), our toddlers (12 months to 24 months), our 2 -3 year olds, and our pre-school children (3 - 5 years), enabling us to resource each room appropriately for the age group, and where they are cared for, nurtured and encouraged to explore and investigate. We operate rooms for our older children with direct access for the children to our outdoor play areas – which allows them to free-flow indoors and out, depending on their preference.
If you visit our day nursery in Hucclecote, you’ll see that it is surrounded by extensive gardens and outdoor play space. Each age range has its own designated outdoor play space, which allows us to develop age appropriate outdoor activities. Most of this space is grassed and surrounded by trees (although some is hard standing), and this allows us to capitalise on children’s natural love of wildlife and ‘the great outdoors’ in a wonderful environment.
Our children also love our wooden ‘climbing house’ that they gain confidence on as they climb (and have huge fun on, as they slide off down our ‘shute’). We have designated digging and planting areas in our ‘Veggie Patch’ which we use to teach the children about growing and about food. And we have a huge ‘sand play’ area and a ‘mud kitchen’ in which children can dig, build and experiment with sand, mud and water as they discover what can be done with these different materials.
Whilst you wouldn’t expect to find a day nursery in Hucclecote with such extensive outdoor facilities – and we appreciate that we’re lucky to have them – we have also worked hard to create the best indoor facilities too. Our baby and toddler rooms are equipped with resources such as sensory equipment, treasure baskets, and our toddler ‘play gym’ - carefully selected and designed to promote your child’s development. And our rooms for older children are packed with resources designed to offer children as much choice as possible and capitalise on their individual areas of interest, and IT facilities that allow children to begin their learning in his area.
We are committed to remaining the best day nursery in Hucclecote, and to providing ‘outstanding’ childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years of age, and our nursery facilities and environment form an important part of that.
We believe excellent childcare and education depends on:
• Providing rich enabling environments, and stimulating activities
• Having knowledgeable enthusiastic staff to support children’s learning and development
• Working in partnership with the parents and families of the children in our care
• Training, valuing and rewarding our staff for the crucial role they play in supporting children’s learning and development
• Children and adults having fun!
We hope you do too – and that you’ll pop in to see us at The Little People Day Nursery in Hucclecote.
