We have a few things that we would like to share with you…

This time of year is always busy with children moving to school… if you have not told us your child’s new school and leaving date please could you let us know as soon as possible.

The pre-school children have enjoyed a wide range of activities during the last few months including Easter, Bug Hunting, Cooking and Junk Modelling and Making Cheerio Jewellery (even though the cheerio’s did not make it home)

Thank you to all the parents that sent back the Easter Diaries and the bug hunting sheets we enjoyed looking at them and made some great displays.

Over the next few weeks we will be planning some very exciting activities for your children alongside their individual planning, such as

Father’s Day activities

Garden play

Cooking

Developing our numbers and writing skills

Physical activities (Olympic games)

Role play (Ice-cream shop) Please send in your empty clean ice cream/lolly boxes and containers if you have any

Running alongside the interest in Bugs we will be taking part in singing some Bug Songs such as Incy Wincy spider

We will be sharing stories such as The Hungry Caterpillar

If your children have any favourite stories that they enjoy reading please bring them into share with us!!

We would like to help the children develop their self-care skills and would like to invite them to bring in their PE kits to change into before Wake and Shake sessions. Please do not buy things just for this activity a pair of shorts, t shirt and trainers will be sufficient.

You can keep the kits on their peg in a bag if you wish, we will continue with this until end of August.

As the holiday season approaches please let us know if you are going to be away from nursery and remember to send us a post card so we can add them to our map in pre-school. (Toby bear likes to go on holiday too!!)

We are using the court yard daily and have planted a variety of fruits and vegetables. We are watching them grow and looking after them appropriately, We are very eager to pick them and try them for snack!

Our new menus are going down great and the children are enjoying tasting a wide range of delicious meals.

Housekeeping memos

* Please can you bring in a labelled drinks bottle for your child if you have not already done so.

* Now that summer is approaching please ensure your children bring in a named hat, please can you fill in a sun cream permission form if you have not already done so.

Pre-school staff will give you a form if you have not had one

To help get your children ready for school.

Please discourage your children from bringing in big toys from home if they want to bring in something to show we are encouraging them to put it in the take Home Box to ensure it does not get lost or broken.

Please check the box because there are a lot of things in there already.

We have a lot of lost property clothing so please take a look and take the items home if they are yours. We will be recycling the lost property Mid July so please take a look!

We will be holding a parents evening on Thursday 14th July please speak to Sharon/Chloe or Megan to arrange a 10 minute time slot.

We look forward to seeing you then, if you can’t make the date please see Sharon/Chloe to make an alternative arrangement.

Kind Regards,

Pre-school Team
