We have a few things we would like to share with you…
As you are all aware we have been very interested in wildlife and nature over the past few months and this interest is still very on going amongst all the children in 2-3’s.
We have been making bird feeders out of pinecones and watching the birds through the window using toilet rolls as binoculars. We made a bug house out of some drawers and have been using magnifying glasses to look for mini-beasts, we have been planting seeds, herbs and flowers and watering them each day and we also have some tadpoles in the garden, we made a pond for them and have been learning about the lifecycle of a frog.
We have also been caring for our pets, we now have 2 fish, 2 African land snails, Fluffy the hamster and on Tuesday Sunshine the rabbit came to nursery to live. The children really enjoyed setting the hutch up ready for him, they filled it with hay and have been feeding him some carrots.
We have recently set up a home link called Rosie Rabbit, who will be sent home with the children on weekends for you to share your adventures with us. If we are going on holiday or somewhere special and would like to take Rosie with you please let us know.
As part of our wildlife and nature interest we are looking for different animals that can be brought into nursery for the children to experience, if you have any pets or animals at home that you could bring in with you then please get in touch.
Could each child please bring in a labelled drinks bottle to nursery, they can be kept here or brought in daily.
As the warm weather is now approaching could all children please bring in a labelled sun hat and own sun cream if your child can’t have nursery sun cream applied.
We will be holding a parents evening on Thursday 14th July from 6-8pm, please speak to your child’s key worker to arrange a 10 minute time slot.
